DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

We believe
  1. The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings.
  2. In One God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons namely, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. The Lord Jesus Christ was begotten by the Father God, born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true Man who died on the Cross for our sins, was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Majesty as our High Priest and Advocate.
  4. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict the world of sin, regenerate, and seal, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believers for godly living and service.
  5. All human beings are created in the image of God but sinned and are therefore lost and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
  6. That men and women are saved and justified before God only through the shed blood of Christ and are born again by the work of the Holy Spirit.
  7. The Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all born-again persons in this present age. The mission of the Church is to witness concerning Jesus Christ, to preach the Gospel among all nations and to perform works of service.
  8. That Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. However, they are not a means of Salvation.
  9. In the personal, visible, pre-millennial and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  10. In the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved to the resurrection of life, and those that are unsaved to judgment and punishment.

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Master’s College of Theology (MCT) is a Theological Wing of Vision Natives (a Non-profit organization) and is an Ecumenical Institution. At the outset, both the faculty and student body belong to major Christian Traditions, representing various cultural backgrounds, coming from different regional locations, speaking different languages and are from different denominations in India.

MCT has been training students since 1996 and is affiliated to the Senate of Serampore College (University) since 2003. Correspondingly, we also are accredited by Asia Theological Association (ATA). In addition to the Fulltime Residential Studies, MCT also reaches the laity, who are committed to serve the Lord and trains them through External Studies.  MCT has trained and graduated hundreds of students, some have started new Churches, some serving in the Main Line Churches and Christian related organisations and are serving the Lord faithfully for His Glory and bringing pride to their Alma Mater and even some others are serving the Lord abroad in various capacities. We praise God for their services to the Church and Society both in India and abroad.

We strive to pursue our mission through training students for a ‘holistic ministry.’ Our goal is to teach students the ‘Pure Word of God’, and ‘Sound Doctrine’ whereby, they are trained as pastors/theological educators/scholars and dynamic leaders.

MCT is committed to help you in strengthening your ‘Call for Christian Ministry’ along with academic Excellence. We are prepared to equip every student with Godliness, discipline, personal relationship with the Lord and in ministry.

As you prepare yourself to join in MCT, we assure you to offer our best. We look forward to seeing you here in MCT family.

PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE

Master’s College of Theology (MCT) which is situated in Visakhapatnam, the City of Destiny is affiliated to the Senate of Serampore College (University) and also accredited by Asia Theological Association (ATA). It gives me immense pleasure to introduce you to this great learning experience called MCT. We trace back the humble beginning of MCT to the year 1992 when Rev. Dr. Arjuna Rao Chiguluri garu and his beloved wife Mrs. Hema garu, obeying to the call of God to work among the people of Visakhapatnam, started a church planting ministry in Gajuwaka. From the beginning they had the desire to train young men and women for Christian ministry.

In 1996 they began a one-year diploma in Telugu medium. It was conducted in a rented building with nine students who sat on the floor for their classes. From 1997-2000 they moved to a bigger house where they continued to train both in English and Telugu. In 2000 they moved to the present campus in Madhurawada where temporary sheds were erected for the stay and training of the students. By then the students were trained for Bachelor of Theology.

In 2002 God helped in the construction of the buildings. Realizing the need for theologically trained mission workers Rev. Dr.  Arjuna Rao garu with the approval of the Management approached the Senate of Serampore College (University), West Bengal for affiliation in 2003. As desired by His children and ordained by God, Master’s College of Theology came into being in 2004 and was affiliated to the Senate for its Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) program from the academic year 2003-04. In 2006 MCT got the full affiliation. During these years the college grew in number. More staff was added. Volumes increased in the library. In 2007 affiliation for Bachelor of Divinity was sought and it was granted. God gave a good team of faculty members and staff which propelled the college to excellence.

In the year 2018 MCT was Accredited to Asia Theological Association (ATA) and the first Batch of B.Th. students were graduated in March 2019 and in the same year ATA has given accreditation status for M.Div. studies. God willing, we want to offer M.Th. studies under ATA  to begin with in Missiology and later extend to New Testament, Theology & Ethics, and Religion.

Currently, we have Ten well-qualified faculty members in all the departments with doctorate degrees (D.Th)  in New Testament, Theology and Ethics, Missiology and Religion and other departments with Master’s in Theology (M.Th). All the members of the faculty are graduates of the Senate of Serampore College (University). We have student body representing from many denominations and we are a multilingual community.

Today, MCT has a good infrastructure with three separate modern buildings, one for administrative Offices, spacious Class Rooms and a spacious Library with 22,000 volumes of books, the second one accommodates the men (male) students and the third with a spacious dining hall and Kitchen, a few faculty quarters and Women’s (Girls) hostel and Warden’s Residence.

Training Leaders is our motto, and for this we give equal importance to theologizing both as an academic exercise as well as a praxiological commitment. I invite you to visit us for a wonderful experience called MCT.
