Vighnaanaalya Library is the name of the MCT Library. Vighnaanaalya is a Sanskrit word which means ‘Centre of Wisdom’. It consists of about twenty thousand volumes of books and journals. Walk-in guests are given certain provisions to utilize our library. Here are some of the guidelines…..

The following books are available in the Vighnaanaalya Library:

  1. Stack Section
  2. Reference Sections
  3. Journal Section

Master’s College of Theology is computerized in an integrated set of services for capturing, cataloguing, storing, searching, protecting and retrieving information, which provide coherent organization and convenient access to a large amount of information with a collection of 22,000 volumes, 75 periodicals, theses and more than 100 journals in Theology and Social Sciences. In addition we also have digital library in the computers.

The library has reference sections, reading rooms, stacks with books for reference, new books arrival section, shelves containing dictionaries, encyclopaedias, journals and magazines, a photocopying room, a computer for students offering internet and online access to resources and archives containing documented materials, theses and rare manuscripts.

The library not only offers substantial resources primarily for theological study and research at all levels, but also serves other disciplines such as literature, history, anthropology, sociology, etc. Books and journals can be searched manually and through the computers on offer for that purpose.

A complete list of all books (inclusive of stack section, reference section etc.) in the Vighyaanaalya Library of MCT is attached below. One can get the accession number, call number and all other facts about publication. This will facilitate the website users to access the library.

Timing

The library is open on Monday to Friday 09:00 AM- 01:00 PM, 02:00 PM- 05:00 PM and 08:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Books can be checked out from 09:00 AM- 04:00 PM.

On Saturday’s the library is open from 09:00 AM- 01:00 PM. Sunday is a holiday.

The alumni of the college can also avail facilities of the library by just informing the librarian or the Faculty Library In-charge. Students from other College around Visakhapatnam, who wants to read and sit in the library, can also do so after informing the librarian or Faculty Library In-Charge and paying any amount if applicable.

 

Our Publications

Master Journal of Theology Another feature of our academic focus is the publication of Master’s Journal of Theology or MJT is a biannual academic journal published every year. MJT is the theological platform of master’s College of Theology, Visakhapatnam, India. Most of the articles published here are presentations made by the faculty members of Master’s College of Theology at our monthly Faculty Seminar. However, we are also privilege to have the contribution of few guest writers. It is out hope and prayers that our readers will be inspired, enlightened and provoked by the articles published in the Journal.
Due to the Covid pandemic we were unable to publish the journal on time. We regret the inconvenience caused to our subscribers and readers.


Spoorthi

Spoorthi is originally a Sanskrit words which means, an Inspiration, Manifestation to ignite and so on is the official annual magazine of MCT with blend of both spiritual and academic writings of students and prominent theologians from India and overseas. Spoorthi is a collection of sermons, poems, articles and so on. This provides the space for students to express their thoughts and perspectives. The essential purpose of our college annual magazine is to inform-engage; connect; entertain and to inspire a diverse – reader. Believing that “Spoorthi” will continue to deliver an intimate; timely and honest portrait of its purpose.
